Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24.09.2026

This Privacy Policy and these terms of use (the "Policy") have been prepared by the Animal Protection Non-Governmental Organization "Yerkratsiner" (state registration number 211.171.1498865, taxpayer ID 02938583). Its address is Premises 76, 6 Arshakunyats, 0023 Yerevan, Republic of Armenia. It is referred to below as the "Organization", "we" or "us".

This Policy is intended for people who use https://yerkratsiner.am in any of its language versions (Armenian, Russian and English) (the "Website") and want to know how the Organization handles their personal data.

By accessing the Website, using its forms or viewing its content, you, as a user ("User", "you"), confirm that you have read and understood this Policy and accept it. This applies to all users: people reporting cases of animal cruelty, people applying to volunteer, supporters of our work, and ordinary visitors. If you do not agree with this Policy, please stop using the Website.

Relations arising from the use of the Website and this Policy are governed by the laws of the Republic of Armenia. All terms have the meaning given to them by the Law of the Republic of Armenia "On Protection of Personal Data" (the "Law"). Under the Law, personal data is any information relating to a natural person that allows or may allow that person's identity to be established, directly or indirectly.

If any provision of this Policy is found to be invalid, the remaining provisions stay in effect.

The Organization may amend this Policy at any time. The updated version is published on the Website with the date of the latest change and applies from the moment of publication. We recommend checking this page from time to time.

What data we collect and when

We receive personal data only in the following cases.

"Report Cruelty" form. When you report animal cruelty, you describe what happened (required field). Optionally, you may leave contact details and attach photos. Reports can be submitted without contact details.

"Join Us" form. When you apply to volunteer, you provide how we should address you and a contact method (required fields). Optionally, you may also indicate the languages you prefer and how you would like to help.

Correspondence. When you write to us at armeniagovegan@gmail.com or on our social media, we receive the data you choose to share.

Visiting the Website. When you visit the Website, technical data may be processed automatically: IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited. See the section on cookies for details.

Our forms do not ask for more data than we need to respond. Please do not send us unnecessary information about yourself or third parties.

How we use your data

We use the data we receive only for the following purposes:

  • to look into and document a reported case of animal cruelty, contact you for clarification if needed, and take action, including contacting the competent authorities or making the case public;
  • to review a volunteer application, contact you and arrange how we can work together;
  • to respond to your questions and suggestions, including partnership proposals from companies;
  • to keep the Website running securely and improve it.

We do not use your data for advertising and do not send you messages you have not agreed to receive.

Cruelty reports and photos

We document cases of animal cruelty and may make them public. In doing so:

  • we do not publish your name, contact details or any other information that could identify who reported the case without your explicit consent;
  • before publishing submitted photos, we try to remove or obscure information that could identify people (faces, licence plates, exact addresses), unless this conflicts with the purposes of animal protection or legal requirements;
  • by submitting photos, you confirm that you have the right to share them and allow the Organization to use them for the purposes set out in this Policy.

If you do not want the materials you send to be published, please say so in your report.

Donations

The Website does not accept payments or collect payment data. The account details on the "Support" and "For Companies" pages are provided so you can make a transfer through your bank or a cryptocurrency network. These transfers are processed by banks and payment systems under their own rules. We may see the data that the bank or network passes to the recipient along with the transfer (for example, the sender's name, the amount or the wallet address), and we use it only to keep records of donations.

How we store and protect your data

Your data is stored in secure systems. Access is limited to a small number of the Organization's members and volunteers who need it for their work and are bound to keep it confidential.

We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes for which it was collected. Volunteer applications are kept while you take part in our work or until you ask us to delete them. Cruelty reports are kept as long as needed to document the case and for any follow-up action. After that, the data is deleted or anonymized, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.

Cookies

Cookies are small files that a website stores on your device through your browser. They allow the site to recognize your browser and remember certain settings. The Website may use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • remember your preferences, such as your chosen language;
  • collect aggregated visit statistics to improve the Website.

We do not use cookies for advertising. You can set your browser to notify you about cookies or to block them entirely. If you do, some features of the Website may not work properly.

Sharing data with third parties

We do not sell your personal data or share it with third parties without your consent. The exceptions are:

  • service providers that help us run the Website (hosting, form processing, email). They are not considered third parties provided they undertake to keep the data confidential;
  • cases required by the laws of the Republic of Armenia, including requests from competent authorities;
  • information about cases of animal cruelty, which we may pass to the competent authorities. Your contact details are shared only with your consent, unless the law requires otherwise.

Some of these service providers may be located outside Armenia. We may use anonymized statistics that cannot identify anyone without restriction.

Your rights

Under the Law, you have the right to:

  • find out what data of yours we process;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate data;
  • ask us to delete your data or stop processing it;
  • withdraw consent you have previously given.

To do so, write to us at armeniagovegan@gmail.com. If you are under 18, please fill in the Website's forms with the consent of your parents or legal guardians.
