We defend the rights of the animals exploited in Armenian agriculture, of companion animals and of wild animals — and we work to end cruelty towards them.
Through advocacy and education we build social practices grounded in care for animals, for the planet and for people.

Who we are
Earthlings
Yerkratsiner (Earthlings) is an international team advocating for animal rights, for an end to the exploitation of animals, and for an ethical and caring attitude towards them. We started out as a grassroots animal protection initiative and are now officially registered in Armenia as a public organisation.

The problem
What is wrong
Every year in Armenia, by official statistics alone, around 500,000 cows and bulls, 250,000 pigs, 500,000 sheep and 12,968,000 chickens are killed for meat; around 2,654,000 hens are exploited for their eggs; around 728,000 animals of various species are exploited for dairy production. On top of that, Armenia imports more than 290,000 tonnes of the products of animal exploitation every year.
Our work
What we do
Festivals
Every year we hold a vegan festival about compassion and fairness towards animals, people and nature. Visitors find food courts and tastings from much-loved vegan projects, a market, lectures, NGO stands and workshops.
Partner events
We often join other events — concerts, festivals — so that as many people as possible stop to think about the situation animals are in.
Support for shelters
We organise charity concerts and film screenings in support of local shelters, and take part in support visits.
The animal law
We take part in the public campaign to clear up the ambiguities in the key mechanisms, norms and standards of the Armenian law «On responsible treatment of animals», pushing for real public oversight, an explicit ban on euthanasia and the inclusion of every species of animal in the legal framework.
Lectures
We run educational events on the protection of animal rights. We are also planning meetings with university students and developing bioethics lessons for schoolchildren.
